The object of this research was the formation of the student researcher. The work aimed to analyze the training that the student researcher received through the university extension courses to attend the Reading and Writing Project, de‑veloped by a private university, located in the west side of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The research subjects were six students’ researchers that at the time were studying Pedagogy. The research was conducted from March to September 2012. This institution is a partner of the Reading and Writing Program – Literacy Bags from State Government of São Paulo. We used the methodology of qualitative character, whose instrument of data collection was a semi ‑structured interview. It was concluded that the formation of students as researchers is directed by train‑ers of the university and meets an emancipatory and transformative education since it enables the future teacher to discuss the reality and offer changes, thus linking theory and practice. Therefore, it is an extension activity understood as communication. Besides, we sought, in these meetings, to allow that student’s researchers could reflect on the injustices and inequalities found in school life so that in future they can, from their actions, interfere to minimize them.References
