Among the actions of great meaning in the area of youth and Adult Education and Popular Education in Brazil from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day, Paulo Freire’s proposal was the one that took most projection. It is known as the “40 horas de Angicos”, the action took place in early 1963 and was officially closed on April 2nd of the same year. That proposal liberated 300 workers using a revolutionary methodology for the time. Unfortunately, the proj‑ect was shortly closed after the 1964 military coup and Freire leading into exile. Despite 50 years have passed since the action of Freire in Angicos, is undeniable the relevance of his methodology. The revolution caused by Freire pervaded many areas, including the available vanguard technology of his time. In this paper we present the advantages of using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for youth and adults literacy by Freire´s methodology. A team of teachers and students of Universidade Federal do Semi ‑Árido (Ufersa), Campus Angicos, is developing a software to ensure a fast and comprehensive process of literacy to individuals, providing them tools to face several issues as active agents in the democratic renovation of Brazil.References
