Paulo Freire was fully conscious of the opportunities opened by the digital revolution, even if it was incipient. In a free chat, in the 90s, he who always relied on the traditional fountain-pen, commented on how the new generation would benefit in research and scientific production capacity with the new digital technologies. It is interesting to consider the life of a man who started battling for the access to the alphabet and in later years would witness the explosion of information systems. The technologies are certainly new, but the essential question of access to knowledge as a means to recover control over our destinies, central in Paulo’s teaching, continues more powerful than ever.Downloads
